Our Neighborhood

The immediate neighborhood consists of a small subdivision of about 20 homes, all well-kept single family residences on two cul-de-sacs.  Large oak trees shade the neighborhood and the nearby lake.  Most of the homes were built in the mid-1990's, and good design makes them look even newer.  The neighborhood is accessible only via Shady Parkway, a tree-lined winding avenue that connects our homes with Fruitville Road, a major artery leading from I-75 to the beaches.

Nearby, in walking or biiking distance, there is ample shopping and dining.  Restaurants include Papa Nick's family Italian restaurant, Kentucy Fried Chicken, Starbucks, Da-Ru-Ma Japanese steakhouse, Ping's Chinese, Empress Chinese Restaurant, Applebee's, Firehouse Subs, Longhorn steakhouse, Chick-fil-A,and Subway---all within about 1/2 mile. Stores include Publix Grocery, Winn-Dixie grocery, Target, Dollar Store, Radio Shack, Hallmark, Cleaner's, Play-it Again Sports, Environeers, Sam's Wholesale and many others..

There is a nice park about 3 blocks away, with ball fields and gym equipment.  Buses run along Fruitville Road to downtown, movie theates, public libraries and beaches. Fruitville Road also has a bike lane and sidewalks.
